Destructive Testing

Destructive Testing (DT) is a collection of testing methodologies designed to examine the limits of performance and integrity of a material, component, or structure up to its point of failure or a specified load threshold.

Unlike NDT, this testing involves the application of stress, tension, pressure, or other extreme conditions that result in the test material undergoing permanent deformation or destruction, rendering it unusable after the test.
