Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), also referred to as Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT), is recognized as one of the most straightforward, rapid, and effective Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods. Its primary objective is the detection of surface-breaking discontinuities (flaws) in a material.

The working principle of DPT leverages the phenomenon of capillarity to make very fine defects, which are invisible to the naked eye, visually apparent.
